    The Tjejmilen is Sweden´s biggest sporting event for women with 24 000 female runners and joggers of all ages.

  • Change 11 September 2010 Stockholm Half Marathon 2010

    The Stockholm Half Marathon is run on an inspiring and fast course through the inner city areas of Stockholm; Norrmalm, Vasastan, Kungsholmen, the Old Town and Södermalm. Start at the Royal Palace, finish at the city park in Kungsträdgården.
    During the race you will pass many of Stockholm’s most famous landmarks and buildings; Karlberg's Castle, the City Hall, the House of Nobility, the Royal Palace, the Swedish Parliament and the Royal Opera House.  
    The difference between the highest and the lowest point of the course is 18 meters.
    The distance is 21 098 metres.

    Every year leading lighting designers from all over the world visit Alingsås. Each of them has selected a public environment in Alingsås in advance and has accepted the assignment to create exciting lighting with the help of students participating in workshops. The assignment is full of creative challenges and developing work. Besides the competence improving part, Lights in Alingsås is also a significant international meeting place for lighting designers, students, and trade people. The results are marketed and exhibited to trade representatives, the general public and the media during October.

    Lidingöloppet is awarded the Guinness Book of World Records’ largest terrain race in the world.

    Kulturnatten i Lund (the Lund Culture Night) is a unique manifestation of arts and culture, taking place in the city of Lund September 25th 2010.
    Lund is filled with culture made by the people of Lund for the people of Lund. Events and activities carry on long into the night and are usually free. In the charming city centre almost 300 events compete for attention. The historically exciting city of Lund becomes a dramatic backdrop to a wide range of cultural expressions.

  • Change 25 September 2010 - 26 September 2010 Apple market in Kivik

    Harvest festival with the focus on apples. Two-day festival that always attracts around 20,000 visitors who listen to music, see the world´s biggest picture made from apples and follow guided tours of the apple factories of Äppelriket Österlen (the Österlen Apple Kingdom) and Kiviks Musteri (Kivik´s Juicery). Famous artists will be on stage, and children can see their favourite artists open this year´s Apple Market

  • Change 30 September 2010 - 03 October 2010 Öland's Harvest Festival

    The opening ceremonies will be held on Thursday 30/9 in the village of Föra, which is Öland's "Village of the Year 2008". Then during the next three days - Friday through Sunday, 1/10 - 3/10 , the whole island celebrates its culinary richness.

    One of the featured events is "Konstnatten", or "Night of Art", on Friday evening, where - on that magic autumn night - anything is possible.
    Konstnatten is definitely worth a visit.

    Many activities run simultaneously over these three days. For instance: a fish festival, square dance shows, cooking competitions, special menus at meny of the island's restaurants. Restaurants, galleries and handicraft boutiques are all open -  along with 900 other activities all around Öland.

    So that You can find all this easily, pumpkins placed on straw bales will point You around to the various events and activities.

    The most enjoyable weekends of the year!
    The exhibition takes place at Factory in Nacka Strand, the 30th of September - 2nd of October and the 7th - 9th of October. A manifestation to increase knowledge of beer and whiskey. All this in an enjoyable atmosphere.
    The exhibition is internationally highly ranked. It is Europes largest beer exhibition and the worlds largest whiskey exhibition! This year we will break a record with over 1.300 beer, whisky and calvados exhibitors.

    The programme for the Lund International Choral Festival is ready. Tickets are on sale now.

    There will be world-class a cappella, symphony concerts, jazz and overtone singing when the Lund Choral Festival is back this autumn.

    The first choral festival, held in 2006, became one of southern Sweden´s largest and most successful music and cultural events with 10,000 visitors and 1,500 participants. From the11th to the 17th of October, it is once again time for the Lund International Choral Festival.

More than 300 short films will be screened in five different sections exploring the diversity and richness of the short film - from new film in competition to retrospective programmes, from fiction film, documentaries and experimental film to animation.
